Ministry of Public Health Commitment Document
The Directorate General of the Ministry of Health commits to the timely implementation of the following programs:
Program HEA-002: Upgrade Primary Healthcare (PHC) services (Jul. 2007 – Dec. 2009): the program objectives are to develop an effective primary healthcare system in order to improve health outcomes and reduce health equity disparities.
Program HEA-003: Follow-up Implementation of Quality Assurance Program (May 2007 – Dec. 2009): the objective of this program is to institutionalize the Hospital Accreditation Program and initiate accreditation progran for phc facilites.
Program HEA-004: Undertake Health Financing Reform (Oct. 2006 – Dec. 2009): the objectives of this program are to rationalize MoH expenditure, reduce unnecessary hospitalization and contain costs, and make health expenditure data available for appropriate and targeted health policies.
Program HEA-005: Enhance Public Health Functions and Programs (Jan. 2007 – Dec. 2009): the objectives of this program are to scale up current immunization activities towards a fully institutionalized EPI program, and enhance communicable diseases surveillance and response at the MoH.
Program HEA-007: Undertake Pharmaceutical Reform (Jun. 2005 – Dec. 2009): the objectives of this program are to decrease drug prices by reviewing the current pricing system, and update drugs registration files.
