Birth lists are received monthly by the Department of Statistics from the 44 Qalams distributed in different Qadas of Lebanon through the District Physicians. A total of 51809 biths were registered and reported in 2004. Reporting rate was 70.1%. Worth noting that births registered in Beirut are not reported to MOH. Efforts are underway to receive them.

Deaths lists are received monthly by the Department of Statistics from the 44 Qalams distributed in different Qadas of Lebanon through the District Physicians. A total of 11379 deaths were registered and reported in 2004. Reporting rate was 69%. As for the case of the births, deaths occuring in Beirut are not reported to the MOH for administrative reasons to be solved.
