The Minister of Public Health Dr. Jamil Jabak issued the following statement:

Following the attack on Dr. Rabih Abou Shami who works for Rachaya Governmental hospital and who was kidnapped, robbed by force of arms and threatened with death, the Ministry of Public Health represented by its Minister Dr. Jamil Jabak strongly denounces the attack and expresses its support to Dr. Abou Shami and to the medical staff against such tragic accidents.  It also calls on the security and judicial authorities to take action and exert all the possible efforts to identify the perpetrators and anyone involved in the accident and hold them accountable for their actions through appropriate sanctions to avoid reoccurrence.
