وقع وزير الصحة العامة في حكومة تصريف الأعمال الدكتور حمد حسن والسفيرة السويسرية في لبنان مونيكا شموتز كيرغوز على اتفاقية تعاون مشترك للمساعدة في إعادة تأهيل طابقين في كل من مستشفيي الكرنتينا (قسم الولادة والطفل) والقديس جاورجيوس - الروم بما يتيح إعادة العمل فيهما بأسرع وقت ممكن بعدما خرجا من الخدمة إثر الدمار الهائل الذي تسبب به إنفجار مرفأ بيروت في المبنيين.

وقال الوزير حسن: "إن المبادرة مشكورة خصوصا أننا بأمس الحاجة لهكذا عطاءات هادفة في وقت نعاني من خروج أربع مستشفيات من الخدمة بالتزامن مع ارتفاع عدد الإصابات بفيروس كورونا، ما يشكل خطرا وضغطا على النظام الصحي اللبناني".

وشكر الدولة السويسرية وسفيرتها في لبنان على هذه المساعدة الميدانية، لافتا الى أن "الإتفاقية تنص على التعاون المباشر وتختصر العوائق البيروقراطية التي تستغرق الكثير من الوقت بهدف اجتياز المراحل في أقصر مهلة زمنية ممكنة".

وأعربت السفيرة السويسرية بدورها عن" سعادتها في تقديم المساعدة بعد انفجار المرفأ و"البدء بأعمال إعادة التأهيل في شكل فوري". وشكرت للوزير حسن "ما أبداه من تعاون لتخطي الحواجز البيروقراطية". ولفتت إلى أن الإتفاقية "تأتي بعد التحرك السريع الذي بادرت إليه الحكومة السويسرية بعيد الإنفجار وإرسالها فرقا طبية لمساعدة الجرحى". وجددت التأكيد على "وقوف الحكومة السويسرية إلى جانب الشعب اللبناني".
