تسلم وزير الصحة العامة فراس الأبيض ظهر اليوم في مطار رفيق الحريري الدولي في بيروت، شحنة مساعدات أدوية ومستلزمات طبية زنتها 25 طناً، مقدمة من "اليونيسف"، بتمويل من الحكومة البريطانية، بحضور ممثلين عن المنظمة في لبنان.

وكان للأبيض كلمة من المطار قال فيها: "هذه المساعدات هي الجزء الثالث من الشحنة التي تبلغ بمجملها سبعين طنا من المساعدات التي وصل جزء منها بالأمس وجزء آخر وصل عبر البر من الأردن. هذه المساعدات مهمة جدا في ظل هذا الوضع الصعب الذي يمر به القطاع الاستشفائي والصحي، وهذا ما يعطينا ردة فعل إيجابية ويسمح لمستشفياتنا بالاستمرار وبشكل خاص بالنسبة للنازحين الذين بلغ عددهم مليون و200 الف نازح عندهم إحتياجات صحية".

وشكر المجتمع الدولي "وخاصة الحكومة البريطانية التي مولت هذه الشحنة ومنظمة اليونيسف التي هي شريك ثابت لوزارة الصحة وشريك مهم لاستمرارنا في القطاع الصحي".

بدوره أشار ممثل "اليونيسف" في لبنان إدوار بيغبيدر إلى أن "هذه الشحنة هي بمثابة دعم لوزارة الصحة والمستشفيات، وسيكون مجموع المساعدات 67 طنا قادرة على خدمة 700 الف شخص لمدة ثلاثة أشهر معرضين لعدة انواع من الأمراض، وهذه الشحنة من المساعدات هي لمساعدة وزارة الصحة في الاستمرار بعملها".
