Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani received the founding committee of the government hospital workers and the head of the General Confederation of the Lebanese Workers Bechara Al-Asmar, in the presence of chairmen of the board of directors, directors of government hospitals and the head of the Supervision Department of these hospitals Antoine Romanos. The delegation thanked Hasbani for his major role in the issuance of the salary scale decree related to the government hospital workers.

Al-Asmar stated that reaching an agreement on the salary scale for the government hospital workers is a great achievement thanks to the efforts of Deputy Prime Minister exerted day and night.

The government hospitals need a significant financial support. The salary scale is not enough for these hospitals as funding is required. Cooperation between the Ministries of Public Health and Finance is sought to secure funding of these hospitals.

Hasbani

Hasbani noted that what had been accomplished within the legal framework, in spite of the complications faced, was an acceptable outcome and a part of our aspiration. Hasbani hoped that this work would be finalized to reach the expected outcome through the endorsement of a law on the salary scales for the government hospital workers.

“Today your acquired right to salary scale has become acceptable, but I assure you that there is still a lot of work ahead of us to promote productivity, which requires collaborated efforts,” Hasbani added.
