The Information Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani issued the following statement:

The Minister of Public Health decided to halt the circulation of AB Slim food supplement registered since 2012, in a precautionary step, based on the warning issued by the US Food and Drug Administration on 20/06/2018. The FDA recommends people not to buy this product as it contains Sibutramine which was withdrawn from the markets for health concerns, Phenolphthalein that may cause cancer and Sildenafil.

Hasbani ordered the Pharmaceutical Inspection Department to analyze the components of the product to confirm whether these ingredients are found in the food supplement circulating in the Lebanese market, a decision disseminated to all the concerned parties.
