An inspection team from the Ministry of Public Health headed with the District Doctor to N.D. Maritime Hospital in Jbeil to collect information and hear testimonies by decision of the Minister, following reports to the Ministry on the death of the child Melania M. Hajj at the said hospital and the health condition of her sister Manessa M. Hajj and their mother Mariam Abi Choucair. The body of the eight-month old child Melania was examined.

Following the investigation, the Minister of Public Health issued a decision to suspend the contract with the aforementioned hospital until the investigation is completed and the relevant facts are established to determine responsibilities.
