Dr. Shankiti: the decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases in Lebanon is a good sign at the geographic level and as to the transmission of the virus

The Minister of Public Health Dr. Hamad Hasan held today a meeting in his office with WHO representative to Lebanon Dr. Iman Shankiti, in the presence of the Director General Dr. Walid Ammar, to discuss the cooperation activities between the ministry and the WHO and the latest updates on COVID-19.

Dr. Shankiti conveyed WHO’s compliments to the ministry for its efforts and the measures it has taken to control the spread of COVID-19. She also mentioned that Lebanon is one of the few countries to follow the containment policy by far.

Shankiti stated that the situation in Lebanon is good and that the country is still in the third phase of the pandemic spread.
