Minister Abiad Addressing the WHO General Assembly: The International Community must Support Lebanon

 
يواصل وزير الصحة العامة الدكتور فراس الأبيض زيارته جنيف، حيث يشارك في أعمال الجمعية العامة لمنظمة الصحة العالمية التي تنعقد حضوريا للمرة الأولى منذ تفشي الجائحة، وتستمر حتى الثامن والعشرين من الشهر الحالي.
 
وألقى الأبيض كلمة لبنان ولفت المؤتمرين إلى "معاناة النظام الصحي من الآثار السلبية لعقود النزاعات الطويلة التي فاقمها في السنوات الأخيرة تزامن تداعيات الجائحة مع الأزمة المالية غير المسبوقة والإنفجار المدمر للمرفأ، ما أدى إلى تراجع قدرات النظام الصحي بشكل دراماتيكي". 
 
ولفت إلى أن "لبنان، ورغم أعبائه الهائلة، لم يقصر في إدماج اللاجئين والنازحين بنظامه الصحي المرهق"، مشددا على "ضرورة تقديم المجتمع الدولي حصته من الأعباء الهائلة ودعم لبنان في ما يحق له ولأبنائه في هذا المجال". 
 
كما ألقى كلمة باسم دول الإقليم الأعضاء في منظمة الصحة العالمية، مشددا على "التراجع المضطرد للخدمات الصحية في مختلف دول المنطقة نتيجة الحروب المستمرة"، آملا تجسيد شعار الجمعية العامة لمنظمة الصحة العالمية وهو "الصحة من أجل السلام، والسلام من أجل الصحة" باعتبار أن "الصحة والسلام متلازمان". 
 
لقاءات ثنائية
 
وعلى هامش المؤتمر، عقد الوزير الأبيض إجتماعا مع المدير الإقليمي لمنظمة الصحة العالمية الدكتور أحمد المنظري تناول فيها المشاريع والبرامج التي يتم تنفيذها بالشراكة مع المنظمة وما يمكن إنجازه في المستقبل القريب. 
 
كما شارك وزير الصحة العامة في الاجتماع الخاص بوزراء الصحة العرب وعقد سلسلة لقاءات ثنائية مع نظرائه وزراء الصحة في كل من قطر، مصر، فلسطين، الأردن وإيران، إضافة إلى حضور العديد من ورش العمل التي تناولت القضايا الصحية الراهنة وتداعيات تفشي وباء كورونا.

ويضم الوفد اللبناني الذي يرأسه الأبيض: مندوب لبنان لدى الأمم المتحدة في جنيف السفير سليم بدورة وعدد من الطلاب ممثلي اللجنة الدولية لطلبة الطب في لبنان (LEMSIC) الذين شاركوا في عرض تحديات الواقع الصحي في لبنان وطرحوا وجهة نظر الشباب اللبنانيين من كيفية تطويره والمجالات المطلوبة لدعمه.
