Hasbani during the Launching of the 7th Pharmacy Conference at the USJ: A Noble Profession and Mission that Embody Human and Social Values
 
NNA- Under the patronage and in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani, the Faculty of Pharmacy of the USJ launched its 7th Pharmacy conference entitled “The pharmacist at the heart of the therapeutic and humane challenges” in the auditorium of the campus of Medical Sciences – Damascus road. 
 
The conference was attended by the president of the University Pr. Salim Daccache, the Dean of the faculty Pr. Marianne Abi Fadel, the Secretary General of the Association of the Colleges of Pharmacy in the Arab World Dr. Abdel Hakim Nattouf and members of the executive committee, the president of Fondation Mérieux Dr. Alain Mérieux, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Monaco Gilles TONELLI, deans, university officers, students and experts.

This conference will discuss the challenges the profession of Pharmacy is facing in our country and around the world, i.e. the scientific and therapeutic challenges in the clinical pharmacology, pharmacology, genetics, biochemistry, chemistry, toxicology, bacteriology, botany and nutrition. It will also touch upon the researches in these fields in the labs of the Faculty of Pharmacy in the USJ. The innovations in genetics and cardiovascular diseases resulted from the researches of the Faculty of Pharmacy in the USJ in collaboration with international laboratories, the challenges of the Pharmacy profession and the efforts towards ensuring job opportunities to all the graduates and reducing unemployment are subjects to be also discussed.
 
Dr. Abdel Hakim Nattouf tackled “the significant evolution of the profession of Pharmacy in the last years, the wide introduction of technology and the new treatment plans.”
 
Mérieux noted that his company owns many humane laboratories around the world. This is mainly to its will to share its expertise in the field of clinical biology and diagnosis that have become increasingly important in an open-space world.
 
The Minister of Public Health stated that this profession constitutes a basic pillar for preserving the public health.
