Collaboration between MoPH and The Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering to Raise Awareness about the Dangers of Child Marriage
 
Deputy Prime Minister Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani signed a collaboration document with the “Lebanese Democratic Women's Gathering” that aims at “raising awareness about the health risks resulting from child marriage at the largest scale.”
 

This collaboration comes in the context of the national awareness campaign launched by the organization under the title “#Not _Before_18”. The campaign and its message were adopted and supported by Minister Hasbani.

Hasbani considered that approaching the health risks of child marriage is necessary to put an end to child marriage. He added that the Ministry is always ready to support all the initiatives aiming at preserving the health and rights of all the Lebanese, in particular the children.”
 
Marwa
 
The president of the gathering Layla Marwa stated that “the role of the Ministry is central regarding the awareness about different health cases. This partnership would disseminate knowledge on the impacts of child marriage on all the girls in all regions and social communities, especially the marginalized groups.”
 
Marwa stressed that the “Lebanese Democratic Women's Gathering which has been working for more than 40 years against all kinds of discrimination and violence against women and girls won’t spare any effort to collaborate will all actors, in particular the official ones, to ensure the protection of the children and forbid marriage before 18.”
