Minister Jabak Presided over a Coordination Meeting at the Ministry before Heading to Iraq

Minister of Public Health Dr. Jamil Jabak held a coordination meeting today at his office at the Ministry in preparation for his visit to Iraq that will begin today at the head of a delegation that includes representatives of the syndicate of pharmaceutical manufacturers, the syndicate of private hospitals owners and the ministry of Public Health and its work team. The Meeting aimed at signing a memorandum of understanding with Iraqi officials to strengthen the joint health collaboration (drugs and hospitalization).

Minister Jabak noted that his visit to Bagdad would include an expanded meeting with the health ministry of Iraq. A protocol of collaboration will be signed to facilitate the process of importing the high-quality Lebanese drug and revitalize the medical tourism through the regulation of services provided to the Iraqi patients in the Lebanese hospitals.

He added that Iraq is a promising country in terms of cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector. He stressed that he would exert all possible efforts to market the Lebanese drugs in the Arab countries. Iraq will be the first country with which Lebanon will sign a Protocol in the pharmaceutical sector.
Jabak hoped that this visit would be successful to achieve economic growth and secure job opportunities.

The memorandum of understanding stipulates the development and support of the joint collaboration framework in the health care fields, in particular the marketing of the Lebanese drugs in Iraq and the revitalization of medical tourism.
