Minister Hassan Follows up with the Epidemiological Surveillance and the Call Center

The Minister of Public Health Dr. Hamad Hasan made a visit to the offices of the team of the epidemiological surveillance program and the call center of the Ministry that are located at Ras El Nabeh. During the visit, he was briefed on the activities of the workers and volunteers from the faculty of medicine of the Lebanese University.

The epidemiological Surveillance Program’s director, Dr. Nada Ghosn introduced to Minister Hasan the work of the team and the ways they monitor positive or suspected cases of COVID-19, inform those who tested positive and follow up on the people who came in contact with them. Hasan was also informed on how the information on the positive cases is collected from the labs.

Minister Hasan praised what the epidemiological team has achieved at this level, especially that its work requires accuracy and follow-up, as he noted that the Ministry would start to adopt a new approach, according to which teams will be sent to the regions where many cases have been reported. Hasan added that this will lead to the gradual increase of the number of tests carried out daily, thus reaching one thousand tests daily by the end of April.
The Ministry reminds the citizens of the new hotline of the Ministry to report on any cases of COVID-19: 01/594459.
